Help with old photos

I have a shoebox from my great grandfather full of negatives in perfect condition of baseball games, players, and fields/stadiums. My great grandpa was, George Thompson, one of the founders of the umpires association. He took many pictures back in the '20s-'60s.

Is there anyone who could help me with this project? I need to identify and price what they are worth. Then I would like to start selling copies on paper to places. I need a partner to help me and I would share profits with this person. A lot of these negatives are from Minnesota teams, Chicago, Canada, New York and other places. Minutes of Board Meeting

Saturday, June 14, 2003

O'Hara's Pub, St. Cloud

Meeting called to order by President Odman at 10 a.m.

Roll call showed all directors present.

Motion Brennan, seconded Fiemeyer, carried to approve the minutes of the previous meeting with one addition. The Brandon/Evansville Team must stay in-tack for the 2003 Season. Players cannot be released or be drafted.

The board next was addressed by Jamie Heipel of Blaine who was appealing the ruling on Troy Heifort that the Board made at the May meeting. Heifort was ruled ineligible for using a dual residence, also living within the Class "A" boundary. After discussing this matter to some extent, motion Brennan, seconded Fiemeyer, to make Heifort eligible. Voting for the motion ­ Brennan, voting against ­ Forsman, Fischer, Fiemeyer, Wegscheid, Roufs, Richter, Odman, Zellmann. Motion defeated 8-1. Heifort was ruled ineligible for the 2003 Season and must appear before the board before the 2004 Season to be reinstated.

Mike Nyberg, manager of the Carlos Team, came before the board asking for the approval of Sam Steidl to play for Carlos. Steidl stated his address has always been Alexandria. However, last year he signed a contract with Hastings using an address of Cottage Grove. After more discussion, motion Richter, seconded Wegscheid, to make Steidl ineligible for the 2003 Season and must be reinstated by the board to play in 2004. Voting for the motion ­ Richter, Zellmann, Forsman, Fischer, Fiemeyer, Wegscheid, Brennan, voting against ­ Roufs, Odman. Motion carried 7-2.

Motion Richter, seconded Wegscheid, carried to approve the Pro Player Questionnaire of Tom Nevers to play for Jordan, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Fiemeyer, seconded Fischer, carried to approve the Pro Player Questionnaire of Colin Bracken to play for Hastings, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Fischer, seconded Brennan, carried to approve the Pro Player Questionnaire for Dan Birkholz to play for Dassel-Cokato, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

A letter was received by Mike YrJo stating he has asked Redwood Falls for a release and has been denied. He will sit out the 2003 Season, then appear before the board for his release for the 2004 Season.

Motion Wegscheid, seconded Forsman, carried to approve Shawn Ross and Brad Johnson to play for Lenior Oilers of the Southern Collegiate League and return to Bemidji for Post Season providing they meet the four-game eligibility.

Motion Forsman, seconded Brennan, carried to approve Dan Mell to play for the St. Cloud Riverbats and return to Marble for Post Season providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Forsman, seconded Wegscheid, carried to approve Ben Grams to play for Duluth Huskies and return to the Duluth Express for Post Season play providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Brennan, seconded Richter, carried to approve Scott Fogelson to play for Mankato Moondogs and return to the Bemidji for Post Season play providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Forsman, seconded Wegscheid, carried to approve Sean Breslin to play for the Indiana Mavericks and return to the Hayfield/Austin for Post Season play providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Fischer, seconded Brennan, carried to approve Cory Hollenhorst to return to St. Cloud Orthopedic Team.

Motion Richter, seconded Brennan, carried to approve the following teams to play Non-MBA Teams: Arrowhead League: Superior, Oulu, Stansbury, St. Croix, Ashland, and Exeland, WI. Duluth Express: Thunder Bay Tournament. Apple Valley: Lake County Legends. Prior Lake Jays: Lake County Legends.

Motion Fischer, seconded Richter, carried to approve Tournament Sanctions for: St. Cloud 6/4-8/03, Sobieski 6/14-15/03, Victoria 6/20-22/03, St. Mathias 6/13-15/03, Brownton 6/12-14/03.

The board next met with Commissioners to set up the Sections and Regions. There were 16 Commissioners in attendance. Sections #1, 4, 7,8, Regions 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16. After some discussion, motion Wegscheid, seconded Schoenberg, carried to accept the Sections and Regions as presented. Voting no on the Region Alignment: Harmala, Wirth.

The board next discussed the Hastings Team and their involvement with Sam Steidl who was ruled ineligible for the 2003 Season on the residence rule. After a lengthy discussion, a motion by Richter, seconded Forsman, carried that Hastings be barred from Post Season for 2003. Their team must stay in tack. No player can be released or drafter. However, Hastings will be allowed to play out the regular season. Hastings must appear before the board to be reinstated for the 2004 Season.

The Scheduling Committee and the Umpires Committee started setting up the State Tournament. These items will be finalized at the July meeting.

Next meeting of the MBA will be July 12, 2003. The board will inspect the parks at Dundas and Northfield. The board will meet at the Dundas City Hall at 3:00 p.m.

League Secretaries June 30th is the final date you can sign or release players. If you have any contracts on hand now, send them in immediately. All contracts and releases plus a copy of your league final roster meeting must be sent in no later than July 7, 2003.

No further business, motion Forsman, seconded Roufs to adjourn. Adjournment coming at 2:00 p.m.
