Former MN Amatuer Baseball Player Ben Bakeberg is looking for broken wood bats to be used for furniture such as bar stools, foot stools, display cases, etc.

Help with old photos

I have a shoebox from my great grandfather full of negatives in perfect condition of baseball games, players, and fields/stadiums. My great grandpa was, George Thompson, one of the founders of the umpires association. He took many pictures back in the '20s-'60s.

Is there anyone who could help me with this project? I need to identify and price what they are worth. Then I would like to start selling copies on paper to places. I need a partner to help me and I would share profits with this person. A lot of these negatives are from Minnesota teams, Chicago, Canada, New York and other places. Meeting called to order by President Odman at 1:00 p.m.

Roll call showed all Directors present.

Motion Brennan, seconded Wegscheid, carried, to accept the minutes of the previous meeting as mailed.

Motion Forsman, seconded Wegscheid, carried, to approve the pro player questionnaire of Reed Pawelk to play for Loretto.

Motion Richter, seconded Fiemeyer, carried, to approve the pro player questionnaire of Tyson Hanish to play for St. Louis Park.

Motion Wegschied, seconded Forsman, carried, to approve the pro player questionnaire of Jake Eiler to play for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League, return to Morris for post-season play, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Richter, seconded Fischer, carried, to approve Dan Mell to play for the Lenior Oilers of the South Collegiate League, return to Maeble for the post-season play providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Fischer, seconded Brennan, carried, to approve John Grindeland to play for the Lenior Oilers of the South Collegiate League, return to Bemidji for post-season play, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Forsman, seconded Fiemeyer, carried to approve Dan Berg to play for the USA team in Europe, June 17-27, return to Eden Valley for post-season play, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Forsman, seconded Fischer, carried to approve Tim Voigt to play for the USA team in the Netherlands, July 4-13-04, return to Pearl Lake for post-season play, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Richter, seconded Fiemeyer, carried to approve teams to play non-MBA teams: (Cannon Falls Bears) Spring Valley, Prescott, WI.;

(Rosen Express) Castlewood, Sisseton, Clear Lake, S.D. Rushmores;

Motion Forsman, seconded Wegschied, carried, to approve tournament sanctions for: (New Prague) June 4-6-04; (Cannon Falls) June 9-13-04; (Isanti) June 25-27-04; also, for all teams in their tournament to play St. Croix; (Brownton) June 17-19-04; (Marble) June 18-20-04; (Howard Lake) June 25-26-04; (St. Cloud) June 11-13-04; (Miesville) July 8-11-04; (Hinkley) June 25-27-04; (Red Wing) June 16-20-04.

Letters were received and read from Juan Tapia, and Michael Mealey, and were duly noted.

Motion Roufs, seconded Fischer, carried, to reinstate Sam Steidl, for the 2004 season. Steidl will be on a year probation.

Secretaries: Registration is due June 1. Send in your contracts and releases. Make sure player questionnaires are acted on by the league and the state before the player plays.

Next meeting of the MBA will be June 12, at O’Hara Bros. Pub. St. Cloud, 10 a.m. We will break for lunch at 11:30 a.m., all commissioners are invited. We will continue our meeting after lunch, to set up sections and regions. We urge all commissioners to be there. Please return your meeting card whether you plan to attend or not, by June 9, so we know how many meals to order.

No further business to come before the board, motion Forsman, seconded Roufs, carried to adjourn. Adjournment coming at 3:30 p.m.
