Cold Spring and Shakopee finished up the invitational tournament schedule for the 2010 season. Both sites had to fight the elements as they battled the Saturday night weather, however, they got in a lot of baseball. Below are the summaries for both tournaments:

Shakopee used the big inning rally twice to come away victorious in the first game of the inaugural Shakopee Invitational tournament. In the 2nd inning 7 of the first 8 batters reached base safely yielding 5 runs. Troy Wasiloski had the big hit in the inning - a 2-run double. Red Wing chipped away in the middle innings. In the 4th, 5th and 6th innings, the lead off batter reached base each inning which usually spells runs. A 2-run home run from Jimmy Bohmbach in the 5th tied the game at 6 temporarily. In the bottom of the 5th, the Indians regained the lead when the top of the order came up. Heller doubled and Brandon Olson drove him in with a single. Red Wing answered again in the 6th, plating three more runs of Indians starter Tim Piechowski. Three hits and an untimely error by the Indians led to the three runs. Corey Tauer and Bohnbach both drove in runs. But, the Indians would answer again in the bottom half scoring four times in the frame. Olson's three run blast to the scoreboard in right center field was the final blow that Red Wing would not be able to overcome. Wasiloski added a mammoth-sized home run in the 8th for insurance. Mike Anderson pitched perfect 8th and 9th innings for the save.

Rochester capitalized on every Shakopee miscue scoring 3 unearned runs in the first three innings as the Indians fell behind early 4-0 after three innings. The Indian bats would come alive in the middle innings. Brandon Olson led off the 5th inning with a single, stole second and scored on Troy Wasiloski's double. Rochester tied the game in the 6th on a double by Tim Osterlin and a two-out single by Bryan Denisen. The Indians would answer back in big inning fashion in the bottom half of the 6th sending nine batters to the plate. Five hits, including doubles by Tim Piechowski, Aaron Olson, and Chris Baso, would yield five runs and the Indians held a slim 6-5 lead. In the 8th, the Indians lackluster "D" would cost them again. With two out and two on an Indian miscue would open the gates for three more unearned runs and the Royals regained the lead for good. A small rally by Shakopee in the 9th fell short and the Royals win their second game of the day.
