
Ardis and Mel Kottke attended the Howard Lake-Elko game this past Saturday in Shakopee. Ardis has attended 49 tournaments and Mel has been to 54. They have been married for 66 years. Even though their Howard Lake team lost to Elko 6-2 they were in good spirits. The first weekend's attendance was 4,857. The tournament resumes Friday August 22 at Shakopee and Chaska at 6:00 P.M. Big Weekend Coming In Belle Plaine |

Last year Belle Plaine, managed by local legend Johnny Miller, qualified for the state class "C" tournament. This year they have started out 1-7, but that has not dampened their enthusiasm. They are planning a huge weekend of baseball, the "Tiger Alumni Weekend" for May 30, 31, and June 1.

Plato to Defend Class “C” Title? No Chance! |

The Minnesota Baseball Board of Directors moved Plato to Class "B" for the 2008 baseball season at their May third meeting. This was in contrast to the January meeting when they allowed Plato to remain in class "C". At the May meeting the Board cited roster changes and "acting like a class "B" team" for the move.
